Buenos Aires, December 20 (NA) -- A 42-year-old man was arrested for being part of the gang responsible for the triple murder with a drug trafficking seal committed in the Buenos Aires district of Florencio Varela. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that it is Jesús Mallón, known as “Uncle” from the group that murdered Morena Verdi, 20, Brenda Loreley Del Castillo, of the same age, and Lara Gutiérrez, 15. According to the police report, the arrest was made after a raid carried out by the DDI La Matanza, after investigators established that he had links with other accused already identified in the case, Alex Ydone and Florencia Milagros Ibarra. As detailed by the investigation, the accused covered up the commercialization of drugs under an apparent legal activity linked to the sale of flea market items and would also be related to human trafficking maneuvers. Mallón had been summoned to testify, as a witness, on December 5, when he contradicted himself and denied both his link with the other accused and the use of investigated telephone lines. Later, he got rid of his Chevrolet Cruze vehicle and drastically reduced his usual movements. The judge ordered surveillance tasks and a raid at his home in the Berazategui jurisdiction, where Mallón was arrested as he was about to leave. During the procedure, six cell phones were seized that will be subjected to expert analysis. The detainee was transferred to a judicial headquarters and is at the disposal of the intervening court, which set a hearing for the next December 22, while communications and financial movements linked to the accused and possible fugitives in the case continue to be analyzed. The case is being investigated by the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 2 of Morón, with the intervention of Secretariat No. 8. The docket includes illegal deprivation of liberty with coercion, aggravated in two facts, aggravated because it is a minor victim, and aggravated homicide by the concerted action of two or more people, with treachery, cruelty, and because it was committed to ensure impunity. According to the reconstruction of the case, the victims left on September 19 of last year, around 9:15 p.m., from a home located in the locality of Ciudad Evita heading towards a gas station area located on Bufano and Crovara avenue, but never returned. Analysis of security cameras allowed establishing that the young women got into a white Chevrolet Tracker truck that, the next day, was found burned in Florencio Varela. After the Scientific Police's expert reports and geolocation analysis, it was determined that the victims had been illegally deprived of liberty, then murdered, and their bodies found buried in a home in the Villa Vatteone neighborhood.
